The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking a versatile coordinator to contribute to our mission in Tashkent, Uzbekistan as a Project Coordinator.
The Project Coordinator will play a key coordinating role for the Blue Peace Central Asia (BPCA) 2.0 project. The successful candidate will foster an enabling environment among project team members, implementation partners, and key stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of project outputs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and coordinate the overall project activities, including logistics and travel arrangements in timely manner. Guide Country Liaison Officers in handling project administrative tasks.
- Support the establishment and implementation of in-country project coordination systems.
- Contribute to the development of annual work plans, budgets, and project reporting.
- Assist the Project Leader with activity-level planning and administration, including scheduling meetings as required.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on the BPCA 2.0 project, under the guidance of the BPCA 2.0 Project Leader, to support informed decision-making and ensure consistency in information presented to stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal and external counterparts to facilitate collaboration, monitor project progress, and identify potential risks to program delivery.
- Assist Project Leader to identify, develop, and manage potential partnerships that support collaboration and enhance project implementation. Support the Project Leader in coordinating partnerships with government and international development partner agencies involved in the BPCA 2.0 project.
- Organize & attend key project meetings & regular virtual and in-person meetings with the project team and implementing partners for effective coordination and planning. Document and follow up on action items and decisions from meetings.
- Maintain a project calendar, track project outputs, progress updates, and overall project milestones, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines. Maintain project databases, including contacts, interns, consultants, events, and projects.
- Assist the Project Leader across various areas of the project management lifecycle, spanning multiple geographic locations.
- Coordinate the preparation of presentation materials for the team, Steering Committee, and Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC).
- Assess project risks and issues, proposing solutions where applicable.
- Coordinate data gathering and monitoring systems to uphold high quality standards.
- Ensure timely and appropriate responses to inquiries and correspondence directed to the Project Leader.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Essential,
- Masterโs degree in law, environmental science, climate change, policy, or another scientific discipline relevant to water resources across multiple sectors.
Desirable,
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Essential,
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and within set timelines. Excellent communication skills, particularly in preparing correspondence and briefings. Familiarity with social media and the ability to use it effectively to promote inter-office communication and information sharing. Ability to effectively prioritize, plan, organize, implement, and monitor work activities with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to build and maintain effective working relationships in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment, with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Proven experience in using project management software. Demonstrated skills in facilitation methods that encourage participatory decision-making and shared visions with stakeholders. High proficiency in MS Office and other relevant computer software. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally. High personal standards of conduct, respect, flexibility, and a strong work ethic. Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent oral and written language skills in English, including effective listening and strong verbal and written communication abilities.Benefits
This is a nationally recruited position and only Uzbekistan nationals will be considered. The duration of the contract will initially be for a period of three years with the possibility of extension.
