Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Uzbekistan and the direct supervision of the Head of Unit on Migration Health and Migration, Environment and Climate Change (MECC), the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the implementation of IOMโs programme activities related to climate change, migration, and health in Uzbekistan.
The successful candidate will assist in the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of initiatives addressing the intersection of migration, health, and climate change, in alignment with national priorities and donor requirements. This includes contributing to projects funded by the Government of Sweden, the IOM Development Fund (IOMDF), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and other international partners. Key thematic areas include climate change adaptation, migration health, womenโs empowerment in climate-affected communities, cross-border health security, and the development and implementation of national policies.
The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring the effective delivery of project activities, fostering collaboration with stakeholders, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Through this work, the incumbent will contribute to IOMโs broader efforts to enhance climate resilience and strengthen health systems for migrants and vulnerable populations in Uzbekistan.

1.ย ย ย ย Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.ย
2.ย ย ย ย Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.
3.ย ย ย ย Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information. ย
4.ย ย ย ย Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
5.ย ย ย ย Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions.
6.ย ย ย ย Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation.ย
7.ย ย ย ย Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops and training sessions;ย
8.ย ย ย ย Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project. ย
9.ย ย ย ย Assist in monitoring work of implementing partners and report non-compliances to the supervisor.

Education
โข ย ย ย ย School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
โข ย ย ย ย Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.

โข ย ย ย ย Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
โข ย ย ย ย Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
โข ย ย ย ย Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.ย
Skills
โข ย ย ย ย Strong understanding of the linkages between migration, health, environment, climate change, and border management, with experience supporting project implementation in these thematic areas.
โข ย ย ย ย Demonstrated ability to support the planning, coordination, and execution of multi-stakeholder projects, including logistics, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
โข ย ย ย ย Strong ability to support data collection, analysis, and presentation of findings, including drafting reports, policy briefs, and recommendations.
โข ย ย ย ย Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Russian. Proficiency in Uzbek is an advantage. Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and accessible manner.
โข ย ย ย ย Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
โข ย ย ย ย Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment, including coordination with government counterparts, international partners, and civil society organizations.
