Background:
NOTE: Please note that this position is funded under an Extra-Budgetary (ExB) Project which runs until 04 June 2026.
The post is located in the Democratic Governance Section (DGS) that operates within the larger organizational structure - Human Dimension Department (HDD or Department). It is an extrabudgetary (ExB) post within the project, Fostering Reconciliation in BiH Communities โ Moลพemo Bolje, that is currently envisaged to last until 4 June 2026. In addition to two G5 posts, the project also comprises National Project Officer (NP2) post.
The main purpose of the Project Assistant job is to provide project administrative and substantive support in implementing project activities, including support in organizing awareness-raising and capacity-building events, supporting process delivery, the development and maintenance of databases of information.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the National Project Officer (NP2), and the overall supervision of the National Chief of Democratic Governance (NP3), the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:
1. Supporting project implementation by carrying out logistical and administrative tasks, including planning and execution support, collecting and compiling reports related to project activities and assisting the supervisor in all phases of reporting on project activities; Researching for information and reference material by liaising with counterparts and facilitating their participation, drafting terms of reference for the employment of consultants and implementing partners, representing the project at activities and monitoring their implementation;
2. Performing all administrative tasks in relation to planning and preparation of project activities, keeping track of pending matters as well as on budget and expenditure for specific project outcomes, including assisting in the development and implementation of projectbmeetings, workshops and conferences, organising travel arrangements such as schedules and arrangements for meetings and other events, reservations, budget follow-up;
3. Assisting in procurement-related tasks and responsibilities for project activities, including initiating and following up on actions related to requisitions, recruitment of consultants, training and study tours, purchase of goods and services, initiating payments;
4. Keeping track of pending matters and following up on deadlines, entering relevant data into the Missionโs records and providing related updates to project staff when needed;
5. Provides simultaneous and consecutive interpretation in meetings, seminars and conferences, and translation of documents, reports, correspondence and press articles from English to local language and vice versa;
6. Drafting routine and non-routine correspondence in English and local language (both on administrative and substantive project matters); preparing working documents, summaries of relevant documents, and background material, including concept notes, sections of project reports and briefing papers; putting documents in adequate style, language and format, proofreading and editing texts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation and style in accordance with standard practices.

Remuneration Package:
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 2,362.17 BAM/month. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3 subject to specific conditions.
This position is open to citizens and permanent residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina only.

The mandatory retirement age at the OSCE is 65 years for contracted positions at the general service, professional and director level. The Organization shall apply an age limit of 62 years at the time of appointment as the incumbent selected is normally expected to carry out the contractual obligation of two years.
