The forced return of Brazilians represents a significant humanitarian, social, and economic challenge, requiring a coordinated response based on human rights and sustainable reintegration of forced returnees. Many arrive in Brazil in situations of extreme vulnerability, without financial resources, housing, immediate access to essential services, and with significant mental health consequences for directly affected individuals. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Brazil has been implementing a project to support the Brazilian government in ensuring that forcibly returned Brazilian citizens are received with dignity, that their human rights are respected, and that they receive support to overcome vulnerabilities and reintegrate into society.ย  Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator based in Brasรญlia, the successful candidate will provide assistance to the related activities of the project, these includes, among others, project development, reporting, monitoring, evaluation and knowledge management. Coreย Functionsย /ย Responsibilities

Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities; Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics; Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.ย  Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nations agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.ย  Execute PRISM/WAVE administrative tasks when required; Support with text editing, proofreading and translation to ensure quality of IOM products and materials;ย  Support the operational, administrative and procurement aspects of the ongoing project as requiredย  Assist in performing various assignments, by planning, organizing, managing logistics, and facilitating different events and activities in their administrative and organizational aspects; Performย otherย work-relatedย tasks,ย asย required. Education High school diploma with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience. University degree in social sciences, political sciences, psychology law, public policy, health or a related fieldย fromย anย accreditedย academicย institution with a minimum of two (2) years of experience.ย  Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย  Experience Experience in translation and revision of technical and business documents; Experience in technical writing, editing, and reporting;ย  Working experience in migration context; Thorough knowledge of IOM mandate and activities carried out in the current migration context in Brazil Experience in liaising with Brazilian Government agencies, national/international institutions, United Nations Agencies and nongovernmental organizations; Understanding of migration law, refugee law, TIP law and other related jurisprudence Experience working with social protection or health system in Brazil; Experienceย withย government,ย civilย society,ย UN,ย or privateย sector actors.
