Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Programme Officer-Migration Management, the successful candidate as the Programme Associate will support the implementation of migration management activities in the Federated States of Micronesia, with a primary focus on coordinating counter trafficking interventions. The position will assist in planning, coordination, monitoring and reporting, and will support the broader project portfolio. The role requires close engagement with national and state level stakeholders, partner organizations and communities across the Federated States of Micronesia.
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of programme activities.ย
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.ย
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions.
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation.ย
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops and training sessions;ย
- Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities withย local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.ย
- Assist in monitoring work of implementing partners and report non-compliances to the supervisor.
- Provides guidance/training to new/junior staff.ย
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in project implementation, with demonstrated involvement in counter trafficking, protection, migration or community engagement work.
Direct experience engaging with communities, traditional leaders, womenโs groups, youth groups and civil society organizations.
Experience organizing and facilitating community outreach, awareness raising activities, consultations or trainings.
Experience working with government partners, service providers and frontline stakeholders.
Strong background in coordinating field work, collecting community level feedback and supporting culturally sensitive programming.
Familiarity with migration management concepts and survivor centred or Trauma based approaches is an advantage.
