Office of the Senior Managing Director for Development Policy and Partnerships
The Senior Managing Directorโ€™s (SMD) key mandate includes overseeing the Bankโ€™s knowledge and partnership programs and ensuring that the Bankโ€™s analytical work continues to address the pressing development challenges facing client countries and global partners. The office is responsible for the Evolution Roadmap, G20 and G7 engagements, the implementation of the Knowledge Compact, as well as the replenishment of IDA, the Bankโ€™s concessional lending arm for the poorest countries. It comprises the Outcomes, Innovation and Knowledge and Learning Departments.
Launched last year and reporting to SMD, the Department for Outcomes is comprised of a dynamic team with the energy of a start-up to drive change.ย  It provides the strategic vision and direction for an effective outcome orientation across the WBG, coordinating the jobs agenda across the WBG, delivery of targets and leading the implementation of the WBG Scorecard as an accountability, management, and communications tool. It comprises two units:

i) The Outcome Measurement Unit, which leads the annual update and reporting cycles of the WBG Scorecard, the development and implementation of metrics and systems to evaluate outcomes on cross-cutting themes such as jobs, climate, private capital facilitation, women and youth, provides quality assurance, and convenes external and internal parties and other MDBs regarding outcome metrics.

ii) The Outcome Delivery Unit, which serves as the Secretariat for High-Level Advisory Council on Jobs and coordinates the jobs agendaย  across the WBG, tracks in real-time how and where the WBG is driving development outcomes, monitoring targets through regular stocktaking and identifying areas that require additional efforts and resources, and builds client capacity and staff capacity for results measurement using the latest technology.

The Outcomes Delivery Unit within the Department is looking for an energetic and highly motivated Program Assistant to provide support during the 2025 Annual Meetings and beyond.ย  The selected candidate is expected to be entrepreneurial, resourceful and with extensive experience in seamlessly managing calendars, organizing events, and coordinating with units across the WBG.ย The Department has benefited from the transformative impact of bringing in young talent, championing fresh perspectives, and embracing innovation and technology. with curiosity, adaptability, drive for impact, and a readiness to challenge the status quo. Duties and accountabilities:ย 

โ€ข Provide a full range of administrative support to the Manager and team, including calendar management, scheduling appointments, meetings, travel, and more.
โ€ข Provide a full range of administrative support to staff in the team, including but not limited to scheduling staff meetings, arranging VC/AC/Webex meetings, requesting conference room reservations and visitor passes, making logistic arrangements, drafting routine correspondence, preparing documentations and presentations, supporting recruiting/interview scheduling, etc.
โ€ข Review documents and files to check for accuracy and conduct revisions as needed
โ€ข Assist team members in organizing various events, sending out invitations, and following up promptly.
โ€ข Assist with logistical tasks and support the administration of the physical workspace by handling visitor passes, couriers, and maintaining meeting room readiness; managing office supplies for the unit; and addressing various requests from team members.
โ€ข Maintain current distribution lists, contacts.
โ€ข While independent work on the outlined administrative tasks is expected, the chosen candidate is expected to seek guidance from the Senior Executive Assistant (EA) and work in coordination with the other Administrative Assistants in the department and the Verticals.
โ€ข Work as part of the ACS team to ensure adequate support is in place forย  management (backup).
โ€ข Any other Ad-hoc assignments as requested by the manager or the department EA.

Selection Criteria

Attention: Only applicants who are nationals, legal residents, or otherwise have legal presence in the duty station independent of any employer, and who are authorized to work in the duty station, will be considered.

โ€ข High school diploma with 7 years or bachelorโ€™s degree and 4+ years of experience in similar responsibilities in high paced environments.ย 
โ€ข Technology and systems knowledge - Demonstrates advanced knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) with the ability and willingness to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
โ€ข Strong Interpersonal skills, Organizational skills, and writing skills, highly reliable, well organized, and able to work under minimal supervision to meet strict deadlines.
โ€ข Project and task management - Exhibits good organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to work competently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates attention to detail and quality. Has the ability to manage multiple tasks and complete tasks within the agreed schedule.
โ€ข Versatility and adaptability - Demonstrates flexibility and is receptive to the implementation of new solutions. Is willing to stretch own capability. Demonstrates motivation to avail and adapt oneself to effecting change.
