Introduction
Introduction: As a Flagship Catalytic Blended Financing platform of the UN, UNCDF utilizes its unique capability in the UN system to deploy grants, loans and guarantees to crowd-in finance for the scaling of development impact. UNCDF focuses on where the needs are greatest, a deliberate focus and capability rooted in UNCDFโs unique investment mandate to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the realization of the Doha Programme of Action for the least developed countries, 2022โ2031. As per its Strategic Framework, UNCDF works to deploy its functions as a hybrid development organization and development finance institution. UNCDF responds to Member States requests for assistance by providing targeted technical and financial advisory services on investments for development outcomes, designing bespoke financial structuring solutions, undertaking financial derisking of investments, and enhancing investment readiness of SDG aligned projects in partnership with private sector, UNOs, International and Local Finance Institutions, Development Finance Institutions as well as Foundations and Philanthropy, among others. UNCDF works to develop local financial systems, new markets and mobilize and crowd in capital from public and private sources. UNCDF is driven by a partnership mindset which enables it to deploy its different capital capabilities in highly tailored and responsive ways in order to mobilize investments flows from other sources, in particular from the private sector. By structuring transactions which are highly impactful, but also recognize the need for multiplying the impact of its own capital, UNCDF seeks to position itself as a preferred partner for different stakeholders. UNCDFโs work is focused on three priority areas, including: โข SME Finance โข Sub-National Finance โข Digital Finance UNCDFโs organizational set up includes an Investment and Implementation Division (IID), Investment and Finance Oversight Division (IFOD), Operations and Oversight Division (OOD) and a Directorate of the Executive Office. UNCDF staff and personnel are located in regional hubs based in Dakar (Senegal), Nairobi (Kenya) and Bangkok (Thailand) with sub-regional presence in a number of locations in the Caribbean and Pacific Regions. UNCDF is led by an Executive Secretary based out of New York, USA.

Description of the Assignment: The United Nations Capital Development Fund is looking for a service provider to provide timely copyediting and graphic design/ layout services, in line with editorial and branding styles and guidance, to ensure that consistency and maintain a high quality of communication materials to raise awareness of UNCDFโs mandate, mission, results and impact. Working under the direct supervision of the Communications Unit, the consultant will be responsible for the production of high-quality knowledge and communications products and perform the following tasks in the respective regions/countries. The engagement falls under two broad headings โcopyeditingโ and โgraphic design/layoutโ, which can be delivered in parallel or separately. Typical tasks might include:
(i) Copyediting: Copyediting and proof reading of webpages, online text content including for accuracy of substance, grammar, spelling and sense; Copyedit and proofread technical documents, adding page numbers, contents, copyright disclaimers, annex and footnotes, as required in line with UNCDF agreed style' Copyedit and proofread leaflets, brochures, case studies and other materials for both online and pdf printing ensuring accuracy of language and content
(ii) Graphic design/ layout: Graphic design and layout of webpages and online text for ease of reading on computers or mobile devices; Graphic design and layout of technical documents, adding diagrams, selecting photos, applying colour and design elements, as required and in line with UNCDF branding guidelines agreed style; Graphic design and layout of leaflets, brochures, case studies and other materials for both online and pdf printing ensuring layout and design conform with the UNCDF branding guidelines and house style; Apply UNCDF brand guide and style to all communication materials
(iii) Graphic preparation of materials for printing and website:Logos and branding; Visual style guide for Programmeโs communication products, including logo construction and clear space, colour system and application on background, typography, correct logo usage and placement, suggestion of creative solutions (visual language and ideas on how to select and use photos; Brand stationaries templates (i.e. A4 letter, envelopes, business cards, fold); Develop a comprehensive PowerPoint templates (e.g. using Indesign).
Period of assignment/services: Initial 1 year, may be extended for additional 2 years under the IC Framework Agreement (ICFA) or long-term agreement (LTA) modality.
