Organizational Setting
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) contributes to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through the FAO Strategic Framework by supporting the transformation to MORE efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems, for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, leaving no one behind. The global context in which FAO operates is rapidly changing and effective people management and communication skills are becoming more important than ever. FAO continues to focus on enhancing these skills through learning and development initiatives, including coaching services.
The Human Resources Division (CSH) provides HR strategies, policies, tools, guidance and oversight to FAO clients worldwide to ensure that the Organization attracts, develops and retains a diverse, skilled and highly motivated workforce, delivering on the mandate of the organization. Over the next years, CSH will focus on developing and implementing a people cantered strategy, and positioning HR as a strategic partner contributing to the achievement of the mandate of FAO.
The Human Resources Division is composed of two main clusters, namely (i) the Integrated Talent Management, providing advice and managing position management, recruitment, mobility, staff development and training, performance management and social security; and (ii) the HR Strategy and Policy providing HR strategic guidance, policy and oversight.)
Reporting Lines
The Organizational Coach reports to the Human Resources Officer in the Learning and Performance Branch (CSHL)
Technical Focus
Preparation and delivery of virtual coaching sessions to FAO staff.
Tasks and responsibilities
โข ย ย Provide one-to-one and/or group coaching to FAO staff.
โข ย ย Design, develop and deliver coaching sessions customized to FAO staff membersโ needs.
โข ย ย Coaching sessions will mainly focus on career development and planning, executive coaching, leadership development, performance management or any other relevant area in organizational and individual development.
โข ย ย Deliver a progress report at the end of the year.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
โข ย ย University degree in Management, Leadership, Psychology, Human Resources, Social Sciences or related area.
โข ย ย Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in coaching in an international environment and preferably within the UN System.
โข ย ย Coaching Certification approved by ICF, EMCC, CCE or Accreditation by an international coaching certifying body e.g., ICF, EMCC, CCE.
โข ย ย Working knowledge (level C) of English.ย

Technical/Functional Skillsย

โข ย ย Familiarity with UN Competency Frameworks.
โข ย ย Knowledge of a second FAO language would be an asset.
