  1. Support implementation of psychosocial support activities across IOMโ€™s registration, protection, and transit centers, including the development of workplans, coordinating personnel and tracking of activities to ensure achievements of targets.
  2. Provide technical guidance to the caseworkers, facilitate regular coordination, on the job training, and field monitoring of activities to ensure quality standards are met are in line with the relevant guidelines and project indicators.
  3. Provide individual and group counselling services to IOM beneficiaries and prepare reports on their mental health in line with IOM data protection rules.
  4. Coordinate regularly with IOM Medical Unit to appropriately follow up on referrals to psychiatrists and psychologists, as needed.ย 
  5. Coordinate and monitor the activities of MPHPSS service providers and/or consultants and ensure quality reporting.
  6. Support the development of programmatic interventions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists on MHPSS, based on the needs of migrants including the most vulnerable groups.
  7. Support the development of a Situational Analysis of MHPSS in Algeria to include a comprehensive list of governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations, and professional bodies that provide MHPSS services and can be vetted for referrals.
  8. Identify any capacity gaps and provide MHPSS technical support, in close coordination with the Protection Coordinator and Medical Unit. Develop a capacity building plan for MHPSS and non-MHPSS teams and coordinate its recommendation and implementation.
  9. Participate in the development of new projects based on identified needs during project implementation.
  10. Support MHPSS mainstreaming activities and assist in the development of an effective monitoring system and tools.
  11. Liaise and coordinate with relevant stakeholders such as UN agencies, INGOs and NGOs, civil society and inter-agency working groups.
  12. Ensure consolidation of reports on MHPSS activities weekly and interim and final reports for ongoing projects.
  13. Maintain a database of all MHPSS documents and forms, including copies of MHPSS consultation, consent forms, referral forms, and ensure the maintenance of proper documentation and filing systems of the project activities.
  14. Promote and facilitate the integration of cross-cutting issues such as protection, gender, child protection, and other vulnerable groups are included in the project implementation.
  15. Undertake duty travel when necessary.
  16. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Education ย 
    • Bachelorโ€™s degree preferably in Psychology, Counselling, Social Sciences from an accredited academic institution, with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience; or
    • Masterโ€™sย degree in above-mentioned fields from an accredited academic institution

      • Experience working with migrants and mobile populations in the UN or INGO system on the implementation of mental health and psychosocial support activities.ย
