Introduction

UNDP Vietnam is looking for a qualified National Consultant to provide coordination, administrative, and event organization support to ensure the smooth implementation of activities at the Vitalizing Viet Nam National Innovation Center (NIC)

The “Vitalizing the Viet Nam National Innovation Center” project (NIC Project) is funded by the government of Japan under the Japanese Supplementary Budget to address significant development challenges in Vietnam's innovation ecosystem, particularly limited access to capital, fragmentation among stakeholders, and a skills gap in critical innovation areas. Despite Viet Nam's rise to 46th in the Global Innovation Index, the country faces barriers that hinder its transition to an innovation-driven economy. These include a decline in financial investments for startups, regulatory complexities, and a lack of cohesive collaboration among government, academia, and industry. Additionally, the workforce faces a shortage of skilled professionals in key areas like technology and engineering, exacerbated by gender disparities in the tech sector.

To support the effective implementation of activities under the Viet Nam National Innovation Center (NIC), UNDP is seeking to recruit a Coordination and Event organization Consultant. The consultant will be responsible for providing day-to-day coordination support across different project components, assisting with the organization of events and workshops, and ensuring smooth administrative and logistical operations at NIC. This role is essential to facilitate collaboration among partners, streamline internal processes, and ensure the efficient delivery of activities within the NIC’s innovation ecosystem.

The consultant is expected to provide coordination, administrative, and event organization support to ensure the smooth implementation of activities at the NIC. Specifically, the consultant is expected to:

- Coordinating day-to-day implementation of project activities at NIC, ensuring alignment and timely communication among NIC, UNDP, and relevant stakeholders.

- Supporting the planning and organization of events, workshops, meetings, and field activities, including logistical arrangements, scheduling, and documentation.

- Providing administrative and operational support to NIC, including procurement support, filing, reporting assistance, and coordination of internal workflows.

- Support the promotional activities of the Incubation Hub in NIC Hoa Lac.
