Description of the Assignment:
The Specialist/Consultant will perform tasks under the general supervision of PS and the direct supervision of the project manager assisted by an assigned Officers. In this assignment the Consultant will perform the following tasks:
๏ท Review existing domestic, regional, and international policies, regulations and standards and explore their applicability to the project.
๏ท Develop IWM operational manual or toolkit and also produce user-friendly guidelines to facilitate interpretation and compliance of its intended users.
Capacitate Implementing Partnersโ staff and provide facilitation on the following.
Development and adoption of Sebapala IWM master and community action plans
Stakeholder Engagement - Re-affirmed Issues, Roles and Responsibilities
Designing natural resources stewardship programmes that will help residents, landowners and land practitioners take an active role in stewardship to maintain and improve watershed conditions.
Designing and implementing Integrated watershed management monitoring program for the project site
Creating a unified access management plan for maintenance of quality biodiversity in Sebapala sub-catchment.
Developing a costed implementation and monitoring and evaluation of IWM plans to ensure effective monitoring.
๏ท Development, implementation, and adoption of Sebapala IWM master and community action plans
๏ท Identify/ recommend Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) strategies and other actions that will conserve and enhance biodiversity in the watershed and improve balance between ecosystem, community and economic health as well as mitigating adverse impacts on rangeland and wetland areas that may result from livestock access and other injudicious practices.
Period of assignment/services : 31 days
