The Risk & Compliance Department is looking for a Model Risk Manager.
As a Model Risk Manager, you will support the Model Validation Lead in ensuring a robust model risk management framework is upheld.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
Conducting independent model validations to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards; Assisting model owners and stewards in building and implementing remediation plans for identified model weaknesses; Preparing detailed validation reports and remediation updates (including regular follow-ups with model owners to ensure timely remediation of findings); Contributing to the development and maintenance of tools and methodologies for validations and model performance monitoring and reporting; Providing guidance and training to model owners and stewards on sound practices for model management, ensuring clear alignment with the model risk management framework; Staying updated on regulatory developments and industry practices in model risk management to provide actionable insights.This role is hands-on and focused on executing validations and addressing findings, ensuring effective remediation and alignment with the bankโs model risk management framework.
Qualifications and experience
Degree in a discipline such as Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or Computational Science; Minimum three years of experience working with quantitative models, preferably in banking or finance; Hands-on experience with model validation and/or development, including familiarity with models used for risk measurement, valuation/pricing, and/or decision-making support; Exposure to remediation processes for addressing model validation findings or other regulatory requirements is strongly preferred; Understanding of supervisory requirements and expectations for model risk management; Proven ability to collaborate with model developers and business stakeholders to implement technical improvements effectively; Familiarity with model performance monitoring and validation tools; programming and statistical analysis skills are an advantage; Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured environment; Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Ability to handle uncertainty, inaccurate and/or incomplete information Knowledge of database management (SQL Server) Programming skills in Python, Power BI, and (desirable) VBA High integrity and independent thinking Strong cooperation and communication skills Proficiency in written and spoken EnglishWe offer you
