Position Overview\n\n
Reporting to the Global Communications Director and\nthe Mekong Regional Director, the Mekong Communications Manager will develop\nand drive internal and external communications strategies for our Mekong\nprograms and support our global development and communications\nefforts.ย Theย Mekong Communications Manager will work across the\nfollowing focus areas: 1) Justice for communities, 2) Holding companies and\nfinancial institutions accountable for harms; 3) Protecting environmental\ndefenders; 4) Shaping policies and legal systems and will craft creative\ncommunications strategies to progress these program aims.ย The Manager will\nbe responsible for the oversight and/or production of electronic/print-based\ncommunications materials and project briefs, press releases, and event planning,\nwith strong adherence to branding guidelines. The Mekong Communications Manager\nwill also train, mentor, and build the capacity of staff on communications\ntools, such as digital and social media. The Manager will also support\nEarthRights' Communications and Development programs by guiding the region's\ncontent and communications strategies in order to elevate the public profile of\nour work in Southeast Asia.\n\n

Key\nResponsibilities\n\n
- Serve as\ncommunications liaison between Mekong offices and global communications team.\nElevate regional work to global prominence and proactively identify\nopportunities for cross-regional storytelling, as appropriate.\n\n
- Develop and implement a coherent, balanced and\nintegrated communications strategy for EarthRights' Mekong programs and\nprojects, using various mechanisms and information distribution channels, such\nas reports, events, media relations, and digital and social media content.\n\n
- Collaborate\nwith program teams and the global communications team to create high quality\nand timely communications materials such as blogs, reports, presentations, and\nvisual communications to tell our story and elevate our work in the Mekong\nregion.\n\n
- Act as the\nbrand champion for Earth Rights' Southeast Asia office and ensure that all\nbranding guidelines are followed and that communications products are factually\naccurate, high in quality, and consistent with brand standards.\n\n
- Work\nclosely with the program teams to identify communications opportunities to\npromote their program areas, including publishing and distributing policy\nbriefs and documenting success stories in a creative and audience friendly\nmanner.\n\n
- Provide\ncommunications support to partner organizations if and when needed / requested.\n\n
- Work\nclosely with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team to publish evaluation\nreports and disseminate insights gained throughout our programs.ย \n\n
- Regularly\nreview EarthRights' existing web and print materials, identify gaps, and in\ncollaboration with global communication leagues, fill those gaps with\ncompelling new content. laborate with the program team to develop content\nfor our website and social media feeds, particularly edIn, Facebook,\nInstagram, X, and TikTok.\n\n
- Develop\nmedia lists for our Mekong region and assist program teams with cultivating\nrelationships with editors, journalists and bloggers to ensure a strong\nposition presence in regional media outlets.\n\n
- Respond to\nmedia inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.\n\n
- Monitor\ncoverage of key EarthRights Mekong issues in national and regional media and\ntrack mention of EarthRights media hits.\n\n

- Ensure that\nall communications outputs-print, digital, and multimedia-meet high standards\nof quality, factual accuracy, and consistency with branding guidelines.
- Proactively\nmonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications initiatives, making\nadjustments as needed to maximize impact.\n\n
- Supervisory & Team Leadership:
- Directly\nsupervise and provide regular performance feedback to the Mekong Human Rights\nStoryteller and the Design and Publications Associate, ensuring professional\ndevelopment and capacity building.
- Hold team\nmembers accountable for meeting deadlines, maintaining quality standards, and\nadhering to ethical communications practices.\n\n
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as\nthe primary liaison between the Mekong Regional Office and the global\ncommunications team, ensuring seamless coordination and integration of regional\nand global strategies.

Competencies\nand Qualifications
- B.A. in\nCommunication, marketing, journalism, or related field.\n\n
- Minimum of\nfive years of experience working in communications-related roles, three of\nwhich should be in the development sector.\n\n
- Sound\nunderstanding, skills and experience with social media platforms such as\nLinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok.\n\n
- Track\nrecord of producing creative and impactful communication materials.\n\n
- Ability to\nmaintain, nurture, and develop existing and new media contacts.\n\n
