The Vanuatu Community-based Climate Resilience Project (VCCRP) is the largest community-led climate adaptation initiative in the Pacific, funded primarily by the Green Climate Fund. Operating across all six provinces, it strengthens communitiesโ€™ ability to adapt to climate change through locally tailored actions, government and civil society support, and cross-sector dialogue. The project is led by the Ministry of Climate Changeโ€™s Department of Climate Change, with implementation support from key ministries and partners. Where you come in:

The MEAL Coordinator will oversee monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) activities for VCCRP. This includes managing data systems, reporting, and supporting knowledge sharing among government, partners, and communities. Working closely with the Project Management Unit and field teams, the coordinator ensures accurate, timely reporting and builds staff capacity in MEAL processes. The role reports to the MEAL and Program Quality Manager.

You will make an impact by:

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

Coordinate with VCCRP teams to plan and implement M&E activities across the project cycle Maintain M&E systems (e.g. IPTT, beneficiary tracking, monthly reports) Ensure data accuracy and quality through verification and cleaning Use Kobo Toolbox for data collection and monitoring Support ethical, gender-sensitive, and inclusive MEAL practices Review and improve data tools and processes Contribute to assessments (baseline, midline, endline)

Reporting

Maintain organized MEAL files and data records Provide accurate beneficiary data, analysis, and impact stories for reporting Review reports and verify documentation from field teams

Accountability

Conduct post-distribution monitoring (PDM) Lead community feedback activities

Learning

Build staff capacity in MEAL Organize learning sessions and share lessons learned

Health, Safety, and Risk

Promote safety, report hazards, and follow risk mitigation practices

Child Protection & Safeguarding

Uphold child-safe standards and conduct Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns

This role requires:

ยท Experience in supporting MEAL activities with strong data management, analysis and reporting skills

ยท A good level of oral and written English, and a strong communicator

ยท Good skills and proven experience using Microsoft programmers to summarize and communicate results including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other data collection, analysis and visualization tools such as Kobo, Power BI and Stata

ยท Able to set goals, develop plans and be result focused to meet tight deadlines.

ยท Strong leadership behaviors and skills in line with organizational values

ยท Ability to work under pressure or after work hours with minimal supervision

ยท Experience working in community participation and accountability activities
