For every child, inclusion
Starting with 2016, UNCT Moldova has been implementing the Diversity Internship Programme for men, women and persons of diverse gender identities, belonging to different marginalized groups (further referring as Diversity Internship Program). The aim of the internship is, on the one hand, to empower representatives of marginalized groups to further seek employment on the open labor market, and on the other hand to improve diversity within the UN System. The need for increased diversity was confirmed including during the latest 2019 internal UN Moldova Diversity and Equality survey, that identified underrepresentation of people from several groups among the UN staff, including persons with disabilities, Roma and other ethnic or linguistic minorities.ย ย
The initiative foresees that persons belonging to marginalized groups join as interns for a 6-months part-time assignment in different programs and projects of UN agencies, being guided by a mentor (staff member of the UN Agency). The assigned tasks in administration, operations, procurement, logistical, communications or programming areas usually differ and grow in their complexity, reflecting also the internsโ specific learning, personal and professional development needs.ย ย

Key responsibilitiesย ย
Under the supervision and guidance of the Mentor(s), the intern will perform a variety of tasks for the Section, while providing the necessary support.
Provides logistics support to various meetings, events, and activities organized by the office.ย Drafts Minutes and / or takes discussions notes or short informative notes of the Office Meetings and Events.ย ย Provides assistance in communication with partners (invitations and confirmations).ย Attends relevant Office trainings, and/or thematic roundtables and actively participates in all capacity building activities, implemented within the UN Diversity Internship Programme;ย Supports updating of Partnership profile of major international partners working in Moldova with or without local residence.ย Supports the updating of National Coordination structures profiles in the area of external aid coordination. Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
