About this position

The Communications Division (DCC) within IDB’s Knowledge, Innovation and Communications Sector (KIC) uses digital intelligence, data and creativity to help position the IDB Group as the preferred partner for development in the region. DCC works with media, email and social media channels to help give visibility to stories of impact in the region.

Objectives of the Consultancy

The Bilingual Finance Writer and Editor Consultant will support the communications team in developing editorial content for IDB Invest, primarily for its corporate blog, Negocios Sostenibles. As the editor of the corporate blog, the consultant’s responsibilities include writing and editing blogposts by investment officers and specialists, working with the communication team to promote the blogpsots on IDB Invest’s corporate communication channels, and pitching to media outlets for republication. The consultant will also support the communications team in writing op-eds for senior management. Additionally, the consultant will manage the writing, editing and day-to-day coordination of IDB Invest’s Annual Report.

What you’ll do

· Write, edit and publish blogposts on Negocios Sostenibles (www.idbinvest.org/blog) in English and Spanish.

· Handle the writing and editing of IDB Invest’s Annual Report, coordinating with IDB Invest’s communications team.

· Maintain a calendar of internal deadlines for the Annual Report, and work with IDB Invest’s project manager to deliver the report on time.

What you'll need

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or other related field.

· Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience.

· Languages: Excellent command of Spanish and English.

Requirements

· Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.

· Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

· Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.

· Length of contract: 12 months.

· Work Location: On site.
