Background:
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is conducting a comprehensive and up-to-date mapping at the subnational level of key development programs and interventions from major Donors and other institutions in Guatemala. IFPRI seeks an IT developer for a 6-month appointment in its Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit, between July 1 2025 and December 31 2025, to collaborate in the study. The developer will collaborate in the expansion and improvement of an online smart form (wizard) for the harmonized collection of data from multiple institutions and organizations in Guatemala, as well as on the expansion and improvement of a dedicated interactive platform of easy access and use for multiple users. Key functionalities to be added or enhanced in the wizard and platform include: user interaction tools (navigation tools, clickable elements, custom dashboards); data visualization elements (interactive maps, graphs, tables and worksheets); data management and exporting; user access and permissions; and potential integration of selected platform components with other existing platforms. The updated platform will display all new data collected, compiled, and processed from various private and public institutions through high-resolution interactive maps (with pop-ups), extended and up-to-date municipal profiles, and expanded databases accessible via interactive worksheets. The position will be completely remote and does not require any work travel.
Scope of Work:
Expand and improve an online smart form (wizard), including adding or enhancing key functionalities.
Expand and improve interactive dedicated platform, including adding or enhancing key functionalities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor or Masterโs degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineer, or closely related field.
Extensive working experience in web design and development.
Proficiency in .net core and Java.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work independently and with initiative.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish.
Experience working with multiple databases.
