ย  The Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities. Interns must be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant working experience.ย 
ย  In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who:
ย  a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities; b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations and/or for whom internship is required to complete their studies; or c) are sponsored by governmental/non governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor. d) are either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelorโ€™s level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months. e) are between 20 and 36 years of age.
ย  Background Information ย  IOM Czechia is looking for an intern to provide support to its Protection Unit (Accommodation) with implementation of programmes related to housing for Ukrainian refugees and other migrants. The Country Office provides direct assistance to beneficiaries and also collaborates with local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders.ย 

Work with the Project Associate (Accommodation) on activities related to project โ€Improving access to housing for migrants: analysing available services, supporting and developing the capacity of local authorities and strengthening cooperation between relevant actors housing for Ukrainian refugeesโ€ ;

  1. Assist in searching for and identifying relevant information from credible sources;
  2. Collect data and materials needed to support team activities and decision-making;
  3. Work with supervisors to evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and relevance of gathered information;
  4. Present findings in a clear and organized manner, both in writing and verbally.
  5. Apply critical thinking to interpret information and contribute to problem-solving processes.
  6. Undertake all other tasks as may be assigned.ย  Supervision

    Under the overall supervision of the Senior Project Associate (Protection) ย and direct supervision of the Project Associate (Accommodation), in Prague, the selected candidate will acquire a working knowledge and support the implementation of Affordable housing activities to migrants and related activities lead by IOM Czechia.

        Applicant to IOM internship must, at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:

        • be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelorโ€™s level or equivalent);
          orย ย 
        • be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);ย 
          or
        • have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.

          Experience

          • Some experience (at least an internship) in the requested/ applied-for-area, is an advantageย

Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
