The GEO Infrastructure is currently under revision and is building a revised version with high focus on the user-oriented approach. In the current approach a close connection with GEO Members is shaping by establishing National GEO Knowledge Hubs.
This Intern position will focus on valorizing existing Data and knowledge resources at National Level and conveying them in the GEO Knowledge Hub working in close collaboration with National Members and the GEO Knowledge hub team.
The intern under the direct guidance of the GEO Infrastructure coordinator and the GEO Knowledge Hub curator will perform the following duties:
1) Support updating the GEO Knowledge Hub documentation;
2) Engage with selected GEO Members and supporting identifying existing data and knowledge resources and applications by thematic domain and support in registering them in the National GEO Knowledge Hub;
3) Support GEO Knowledge Hub Content curator in curating content from national GEOs and other Knowledge providers;
4) Represented the GEO Knowledge Hub in Regional and National Meetings when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Masterโs degree in GIS โ Remote Sensing.
Experience
Experience in international environment dealing with Earth Observations.
Experience in presenting EO topics in international conferences.
Experience in writing technical documents.
Other requirements
GIS and Remote sensing technical experience.
Having good connection at home to run weekly meetings.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of GEO would be an advantage.
