Introduction

Post Title: Transport Expert and Coordination Consultant

Project Name: UNRSF-funded projects Road Safety United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP)

Country of Assignment: Home based, no travel is required.

Duration of Assignment: Tentative 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2025 for maximum of 120 working days

Road safety is a major development issue in Asia-Pacific, with traffic injuries heavily affecting vulnerable groups like pedestrians, cyclists, women, and children. Systemic gaps in governance, data, and infrastructure hinder progress toward global goals like SDG 3.6. To address this, the UNRSF and UNESCAP support regional improvements through technical assistance and capacity-building. Three active projects focus on enhancing road safety governance in Iran, promoting inclusive road design in Central Asia, and strengthening road safety management in Nepal. In this context, ESCAP is seeking an individual consultant to provide technical, coordination, and strategic support across the three projects. The consultant will support project implementation, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and contributing to the achievement of national and regional road safety goals.
