A key component of youth mainstreaming is having an active and effective United Nations Youth Consultative Board. Its aim is to interact and advise the UN on key youth issues as well as promote Agenda 2030 among youth. The UN Youth Consultative Board in North Macedonia was established in 2024 and consists of representatives of youth and other CSOs working on youth issues. UN Partners Database is an MS Excel/Lists is a contact list of partners from public, private, international and civil sector that the country UN team works with. Its aim is to enable easy communication of the UN team with multiple partners for the needs of sharing information, consultations organizations, events invitation, etc. UN 80 is the celebration of the United Nationsโ€™ 80 year anniversary this year. As part of the marking of the UN 80, an event or several events are planned to be organized. This internship is located in the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in North Macedonia. The Intern reports to the Partnerships and Development Finance Officer and the Communication and Advocacy Officer. The Intern will support the work of the UN team on the partnership and communications activities. In particular, the tasks include: โ€ข support the UN Youth Advisory Board and its activities including organization of meetings, support to the Groups' Annual Activity Plan development and implementation. โ€ข Analysis of data and information related to youth in the country and Western Balkan region and contribution to coordination and preparations of youth-focused initiatives supported by UNCT, โ€ข update the UN Partners Database, based on publicly available data and data provided from UN entities and upload the same in a easily accessible and searchable format in a UN shared space โ€ข support UN80 event activities which is the in-country celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the UN. โ€ข Supporting the RCO in utilizing new AI tools โ€ข Other required tasks as per management request Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Masterโ€™s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelorโ€™s, Masterโ€™s or PH.D. Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams and especially of MS Excel. Knowledge of MS Lists or similar software is desirable. Previous engagement in organization of youth activities is desirable. Ability to coordinate/organise activities with groups of people and/or events is desirable. LanguagesFluency in Macedonian and English is required. Knowledge of Albanian is desirable.
