The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB/the Bank) is seeking to recruit an Intern, Integrity, Compliance & Accountability. The successful candidate will be based at CDBโs headquarters in St. Michael, Barbados.
THE OFFICE
The Office of Integrity, Compliance and Accountability (ICA) is an independent office, i.e., ICA is independent of the operations of the Bank. ICA oversees five key governance functions: Institutional Integrity; Ethics; Whistleblowing; Compliance; and Accountability.
The Integrity functions cover fraud, corruption and other prohibited practices in CDBโs internal systems and external operations. The Compliance function covers money laundering, terrorist financing and targeted financial sanctions. Both the Integrity function and the Compliance function are critical to CDBโs internal systems through its Corporate Services Areas and external projects through its Operations Area, and to the Bankโs ability to harness funds and ensure that they are lent or granted appropriately in accordance with CDBโs governance and due diligence.
The Accountability function is operationalised through ICA and the establishment of a Projects Complaints Mechanism (PCM) as the Bankโs accountability mechanism. The PCM is an operationally independent, citizens-driven mechanism established to receive, assess and resolve complaints that allege social and environmental harm arising from projects financed by CDB (Complaints).
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the Intern is to support the work of the Institutional Integrity, Compliance and Accountability functions with/to:
โข conduct relevant research and produce research reports including ICAโs history and information to promote ICAโs work and visibility on all media;
โข the internal review of its current procedures conduct of special initiatives to review and update records;
โข prepare and present training;
โข integrate new technologies, into the way ICA conducts its work; and
โข assist as necessary with ICAโs preparations to co-host the IAMnet Annual Meeting 2025.
REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
The Intern will report directly to the Head of ICA.
EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES

Currently pursuing a degree in law, business administration, internal audit or information technology, or a related field or graduated in the last 12 months.

Excellent research ability.

Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to clearly and concisely prepare, present, discuss and defend issues, research findings and recommendations to the Head, ICA and to produce briefs, reports and papers to assist the Head, ICA.
LOCATION, DURATION AND TIMING
This assignment will be carried out at CDBโs Headquarters in Barbados over a 3-month period, commencing in July 2025 and ending in September 2025.
