IFC is seeking Information Officer - Data Scientist & AI/ML Product Manager, based in Washington, DC. As a Data Scientist & AI/ML Product Owner within IFCโs CITAT department, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and harnessing the power of data and artificial intelligence to advance IFCโs mission of promoting sustainable private sector development in emerging markets. This senior-level position combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise, empowering you to shape and deliver cutting-edge AI/ML solutions that enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, and impact across the organization.ย

Role Responsibilities:ย โข ย Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/GenAI/ML-driven solutions to address IFCโs strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and measurable impact.โข ย Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data science and AI/ML technologies to enhance operational efficiency, client engagement, and decision-making processes.โข ย Serve as the Product Manager for AI/ML initiatives, defining product vision, roadmaps, prioritizing features, and managing the product lifecycle to deliver high-value solutions.โข ย Manage and mentor a team of data scientists and AI/ML engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.โข ย Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and technologies in AI/ML, integrating relevant advancements into IFC's product roadmap.โข ย Engage with external partners, industry experts, and academic institutions to build strategic alliances and stay at the forefront of AI/ML innovation.โข ย Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI solutions, using data-driven metrics to continuously improve outcomes and ensure alignment with IFCโs mission and values.โข ย Advocate for responsible AI practices, ensuring solutions are inclusive, unbiased, and aligned with IFCโs commitment to sustainability and equitable development. Work in collaboration with OIS and IFC compliance.โข ย Prepare and present technical reports, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership, demonstrating the value and impact of AI, GenAI/ML initiatives on IFCโs strategic objectives.
Selection Criteria
โข ย Masterโs degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.โข ย Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in data science, AI/ML development, or related fields, including at least 3 years in a leadership or product ownership role.โข ย Proven expertise in designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML models and solutions, with a strong portfolio of successful projects demonstrating measurable impact.โข ย Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or node, and experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.โข ย Demonstrated ability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions, leveraging AI/ML technologies to address organizational challenges and opportunities.โข ย Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams, including technical experts, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.โข ย Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving end-to-end product development, including ideation, prototyping, testing, and scaling AI/ML solutions.โข ย Commitment to IFCโs mission and values, including a focus on sustainability, innovation, and fostering inclusive economic growth through technology.โข ย Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, showing adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and respect for diverse perspectives.โข ย Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying market trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions.โข ย Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
