For the purpose of this vacancy, internal candidates are considered first-tier candidates. ย Under the overall supervision of the Head of Resource Management Unit in Germany and direct supervision of the Head of ICT and in close cooperation with Project Managers and other relevant units, the incumbent will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Gather functional requirements from relevant units in the Country Office (CO) that provide migrant operational assistance and services and participate together with stakeholders in developing system enhancements.
- Provide technical support and guidance on the process, system use and the standard operating procedures of the IOM applications and functionality.
- In coordination with Project Managers and other relevant stakeholders, identify issues and provide solutions to business functional requirements by improving business processes and standard operating procedures considering end-to-end processes and scenarios.ย
- Work closely with the internal units of CO to assess and prioritize enhancements pertaining to the COโs applications, as well as integration with other functional activities to maximize optimization and benefit of the overall process and system.ย
- Prepare AVR related statistical information and distributes them regularly to the donor and counterparts and provide response to ad-hoc AVR related statistics requests, as well as prepare specific donor and AVR related statistics, and process data using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports. Implement local configuration and adjustment of the IOM corporate migrant applications.ย
- In coordination with the direct supervisor, compile, prepare, clean and manage data sets and prepare AVRR related statistical information and distribute them regularly to the donor and counterparts and act as Focal Point for HQ, RO and other IOM units.
- Assists Operational staff in resolving technical issues related to IOMโs in-house electronic application.
- Monitor data quality in IOMโs in-house electronic application and ensure that necessary corrections of entered data are made in coordination with operational case workers.
- Develop and adjust local configuration of IOMโs in-house electronic application according to the donorsโ requirements and in coordination with direct supervisor.
- Provide support for other relevant tasks in the area of information management and data analysis as assigned by the direct supervisor.
- Liaise and coordinate ย with the IOM Global Migration Data Analysis Centre in Berlin on data analysis issues of AVRR data when specific input for a certain task/activity is required.

- University degree inย Statistical Science or Information Technologyย or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience, preferably in similar roles;ย ย ย

- Strong background and proven track record in statistics analysis;
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access and PowerPoint is required;
Familiarity with German Asylum and Foreignersโ regulations and EU grant guidelines an advantage.ย ย Skills
- Previous experience of visualizing data (applied knowledge ofย Power BI,ย Tableau and Adobeย Illustrator or a comparable tool);ย
- Practical experience of how to multi-task, prioritize and work independently;
Knowledge of SQL reporting services is an advantage; Languages
