About this position
The IDB INVEST, a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, is a multilateral organization based in Washington, D.C., that is committed to the development of Latin America and the Caribbean through the private sector.
IDB Invest is seeking an Information Technology and Analytics (ITA) Governance and Oversight Officer to develop, implement, and maintain a robust digital governance framework that encompasses data and IT functions, which aligns with the organization's strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
ITA Governance and Oversight vertical is part of the Data Management and Analytics Unit under the ITA Division, which is responsible for defining and implementing the IT and Data strategy for IDB Invest.
What youโll do
- Developing and maintaining the digital governance framework.
- Identifying and mitigating risks related to IT and data processes and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with internal risk and audit assessments.
- Collaborating with various departments to improve technological usability in a safer manner.
- Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of digital governance measures.
- Serve as a technical focal point for IT audits and Internal risk assessments, taking a proactive approach to measure risks.
- Provide recommendations for improving data management practices.
What you'll need
Education: Masterโs degree (or equivalent advanced degree)in computer science, data management, information systems, or related quantitative field.
Experience: At least 4+ years of experience working in risk management-related roles or related field.
- Strong knowledge of IT governance frameworks and regulations.
- Provide recommendations for improving data management practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Serve as a technical focal point for IT audits and Internal risk assessments, taking a proactive approach to measure risks.
- Strong communication skills and collaboration skills.
Functional expertise: [i] You are able to work in a high-pressure environment while juggling multiple tasks, and effectively prioritize tasks, [ii] you are able to understand and translate clientsโ (business units) needs into solutions, providing services that meet clientsโ expectations for quality and performance; [iii] you listen actively, obtain necessary input, share ideas, speak persuasively, and convey information in a clear, objective, and concise manner.
Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is preferable.

Citizenship: No requirements
Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
