We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Business Strategy Officer for the Investment Operations Department (INO) of IDB Invest, reporting to the Head of Business Strategy, Planning and Resources.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
You will work closely and collaboratively with different areas within INO, as well as with additional organizational units, such as IDB Investโs Strategic Planning and Knowledge Division (DSP/SPK) and the Advisory Services Division (DSP/ADV), among others. Your main responsibility will be to lead the strategic planning process of INO. As part of this role, you will have the following specific responsibilities:
Lead the annual process of business strategic planning and provide support to the INO Management Team and Extended Management Team to monitor its execution. Serve as liaison with the Strategy and Development Effectiveness Department to ensure INOโs contribution to institutional documents such as institutional strategy, country strategies, sector frameworks, the capital increase project and other periodical information/analysis needed from the business. Provide ad-hoc analysis and presentations to the Chief Investment Officer and INOโs Division Chiefs and Heads on different topics relevant for the business strategy. Provide real insight about market trends shaping our competitive landscape in the sustainable and impact investment space, that coupled with the expertise from our sectorial Heads can be incorporated into the business strategy to enhance the value proposition for clients and partners.. Use well regarded consultancy methodologies, analytical tools and frameworks to understand current trends, market dynamics and client behavior. Lead the coordinated efforts of segment/product/advisory specialists and other internal and external experts for specific business strategy related activities, such as the development of new strategies, initiatives to develop key business agendas and use of proceeds, as well as potential improvements to the value proposition for priority agendas. Ensure the alignment between the business strategy, the value proposition, and the business knowledge plan. Other duties as assigned by the Head of BPR.Education: You hold a Masterยดs degree in business administration, finance, engineering, or another relevant field.
Experience: You have at least 5-10 years of professional work experience in business strategy areas with strategic consultancy firms, companies, financial intermediaries, institutional investors and/or sustainable/impact investors. Experience across a wide range of sectors and/or sustainability topics relevant for IDB Investยดs activities is desirable.
Languages: Full proficiency in Spanish and English is required. Knowledge of Portuguese will be a plus.

โ Business Unit: INO is responsible for clients and partnersโ engagement for the origination, structuring, closing and supervision of transactions and projects that meet our requirements. INO follows a matrix model with three Segment Divisions covering Infrastructure and Energy (Transport, Energy, Water and Sanitation and Social Infrastructure), Financial Institutions (Banks, Funds, and other Financial Institutions), and Corporates (Agribusiness, Tourism, Manufacturing and Telecommunications, Media and Technology), as well as transversal areas such as Financial Products and Services, and Portfolio Management. INO also houses two Teams (Marketing and Business Communications and Business Strategy, Planning and Resources), and is responsible for advisory engagements with clients, in close coordination with IDB Investยดs Strategy and Development Department (DSP).
