Heat, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technician

Result of Service-Installation of HVAC equipment (including refrigeration equipment and freezers). -Fault finding and repair work to HVAC equipment such as refrigeration equipment (including freezers), industrial kitchen equipment, kitchen appliances, and industrial as well as domestic gas equipment. -Routine maintenance checks and procedures on HVAC equipment. Work LocationUNPA Expected duration3 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorking within the framework of the Engineering Section/Unit, the HVAC Assistant will: • Assist the HVAC Technician with the installation of HVAC equipment that includes refrigeration and freezers. • S/he will carry out fault finding and repair work to HVAC equipment, refrigeration (including freezers), industrial kitchen equipment, kitchen appliances, and industrial as well as domestic gas equipment. • The incumbent carries out routine maintenance checks and procedures on HVAC equipment. • S/he schedules periodic maintenance for all AC units. • Prepare brief technical reports, routine documentation and test records. • Provide technical advice on efficient store keeping of refrigeration and air conditioning spares. • Prepare technical specifications and list of spare parts required in advance of defects occurring. • Implement all safety and environmental codes and practices relating to repair and testing of refrigeration equipment and usage of refrigeration gases. • Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor. Qualifications/special skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of three (03) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration installations. Familiarity with the latest editions of the IEE wiring regulations is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
