Work LocationAshgabat, Turkmenistan Expected duration20 Feb - 19 May 2026 Duties and ResponsibilitiesTurkmenistan joined the United Nations on 2 March 1992. Since then, the UN system has been supporting the country in achieving its national development priorities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The UN Resident Coordinator leads the UN Country Team in implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and coordinating joint analytical, programmatic, and advocacy efforts. In parallel, the United Nations system is rolling out its next United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for the period 2026–2030, which requires the development of a new generation of strategic, analytical, and communication products. To effectively communicate results, policy messages, and evidence based analysis, the UNCT requires consistent, high quality graphic design support for a wide range of products, including reports, publications, fact sheets, policy briefs, and digital communication materials. Under the overall supervision of the RCO Head of Office / Strategic Planning Officer and in close coordination with relevant RCO staff, the Graphic Design Consultant will provide the following services: A. Core Graphic Design Services • Design and layout of UN reports and publications (print ready and digital ready versions) • Design of country situation updates, fact sheets, one/two pagers, policy briefs, and concept notes • Development of infographics, charts, maps, icons, and other data visualization products • Structuring and formatting of complex, data heavy content into clear, reader friendly layouts B. Quality Assurance and Compliance • Ensure full compliance with UN branding and visibility guidelines • Ensure consistency across products and language versions • Review and advise on photo selection, image quality, and visual coherence • Prepare print ready files and web optimized PDFs, including submission of editable/source files • The consultant will work with content and translations provided by the UN RCO and UN agencies. Qualifications/special skillsBachelor's degree in graphic design or any other related qualifications including art and design is required. Minimum of 5 years experience in graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and color management is required. At least 3 examples of previous works to be listed Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, CorelDraw, Final Cut HD, web design tools such as Dreamweaver and Flash, etc is required. At least 3 examples of previous works to be listed. Ability to work under tight deadlines and juggle multiple tasks at the same time is required. Demonstrated client orientation, sensitivity to working in a multicultural environment is required. Previous experience of working on the CCA products and UNCT annual reports is desirable LanguagesFluency in Russian is required, knowledge of English is desirable. Additional InformationA written or practical test may be organised for shortlisted candidates, depending on the position requirements. Shortlisted candidates will also be asked to provide a portfolio showcasing their recent design projects in PDF format for review.
