Please visit our website at www.eclac.org for further information. The internship in the Statistics Division, Santiago, will last 3 to 5 months, depending on the needs of the Office. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an \"as-needed\" basis. Under the supervision or overall guidance of the Director of the Division, the intern will work on research on the relevance of official statistics for democracy. Tasks will include: - Compilation and geocoding of territorial units from the 2020 round of population censuses. - Georeferencing of minor administrative divisions and cities identified in the DEPUALC database of the Population Division - CELADE of ECLAC. - Compilation and documentation of national geostatistical frameworks for the region. - Collaborate in the development of web mapping applications for the deployment of subnational geospatial information. Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D.
