Work LocationRemote Expected duration1 month Duties and ResponsibilitiesUN Environment Programme in partnership with UN Women is implementing the second phase of the EmPower: Women for Climate Resilient Societies Programme to scale up results and promote gender-responsive and human rights-based climate action by supporting key regional and country stakeholders to achieve a broader impact across the Asia-Pacific region. Southeast Asia through the ASEAN Renewable Energy-Gender Roadmap is raising awareness on gender and developing a gender database. They need support with defining and adding gender and inclusivity indicators into their existing renewable energy database. The Consultant, in partnership with UNEP EmPower team and the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), will help assess ASEANโ€™s gender-energy baseline data to identify and recommend gender indicators for the ASEAN Energy Database System (AEDS). Qualifications/special skillsโ€ข Advanced degrees (A minimum of master's degree is preferred) in management, finance, economics, international development or a closely related field. Additionally, academic and professional training related to gender and development is strongly preferred. โ€ข Minimum of 10 years of experience in gender-responsive planning and policy, budgeting, programming, and governance. The experience must include gender audits/assessment of programs and projects and integration of gender and inclusion perspective in policy, plans, and programs. โ€ข Minimum of 10 years of experience in building capacity of national government ministries and legislators, local government units and non-government/private organizations to advance gender equality and promote womenโ€™s human rights; prepares modules and develops practical tools/ guidelines on mainstreaming gender in policies, programs and processes. โ€ข Experience in working with donors, international institutions, and other intergovernmental initiatives in the Philippines and in other ASEAN countries. โ€ข Ability to and experience in producing well written, analytical reports in English. โ€ข Must have sound data, analytical and communication skills. โ€ข Ability to work under pressure and time constraints. Languagesโ€ข English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
