Your team
Within the Aviation Transformation Directorate, \"Aviation Sustainability\" leads and manages the Agencyโs activities towards the EU and its agencies, ICAO, States and other stakeholders in support to their environment, climate-change and related polities.
Your role
Your role will be to:
- Contribute to the design, development and implementation of prototyping platforms based on environmental models through iterative prototyping cycles, including data analysis.
Design solutions that will enable easier accessibility from external stakeholders to various serviceโs platforms. Perform acceptance testing, analyse impact of incidents and verify that the product meets the defined technical specifications and requirements. Collaborate with relevant teams and stakeholders to gather user feedback, address and correct issues, and refine designs. Produce technical documentation of prototype development, testing and findings. Contribute to broader research initiatives and collaborative projects, tasks forces and working groups as required. Stay updated on latest technological developments/methods/best practices/trends and share them within the internal community to enhance organisational knowledge. Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
Completed university studies of at least 4 years in a relevant domain (e.g. Software Engineering or in another related technical field), with minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience. Experience as a full-stack software developer. Experienced in developing and designing software using Angular, ReactJS in the frond-end, and Python, C/C++, Java, PHP in the back-end. Experience with modern development using AI. Experience or knowledge of Oracle. The following would be of an asset:
o Experience or knowledge of modern Data/Big data engineering technologies (e.g. Spark).
o Knowledge of the scientific modelling, data simulation or predictive analytics (e.g. emissions/sustainability models).
o Knowledge of air transport.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1/C2. The selected candidate will be required to become a basic user of French at level A1 before the end of the probation period.
The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

The selected candidate must successfully complete a probationary period of nine (9) months before being established in the post. The successful candidate shall be engaged in principle at the basic grade of the advertised grades. Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications.
