Result of ServiceStrategic Management and Implementation Framework for the National Environmental Strategy (NES) and national Initiatives. Work LocationRiyadh Expected duration12.5 montths Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Project Manager in UNEP West Asia Office, the Consultant will work closely with the General Department of Environmental Strategy at MEWA to support the Strategy General Department to effectively drive and oversee the implementation of the National Environmental Strategy. The consultantโ€™s duties and responsibilities are as follows: 1. Track and evaluate initiatives, indicators, and objectives of the National Environment Strategy to enhance performance measurement and ensure targets are met 2. Ensure alignment of regional strategies within Saudi Arabia with the broader National Environment Strategy, maintaining consistency and addressing stakeholder feedback to close identified gaps. 3. Map and link MEWA National Centersโ€™ projects with the strategy objectives in phased implementation 4. Develop and oversee a 4-year roadmap for the updated strategy and follow up on initiative completion 5. Redesign and strengthen the operating model of the Strategy General Department for effective oversight on the National Environment Strategy. 6. Update financing scenarios, integrate alternative funding sources, manage stakeholder input, and provide annual performance evaluations Qualifications/special skillsMasterโ€™s degree or equivalent in Environmental Strategy, Environmental Management, Strategy and Business Consulting, Project and Program Management or related fields is required. Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental strategy and business development, and project and program management is required. Proven experience in providing project and program management in environmental sector, strategy and business development, building governance model, communication framework, risk management, performance management, and developing KPIs is required. Experience in working with international organizations, government agencies, or environmental entities is required Experience in designing and delivering training workshops is required Knowledge of environmental issues in Saudi Arabia is an asset LanguagesFluency in English and Arabic is required.
