About the Hiring Group This internship will be in the Software Development and Operations group within RTI Internationalโs Center for Applied Economics and Strategy (CAES). CAES has a diverse portfolio of contract- and grant-funded research in the areas of the environment and natural resources, agriculture, energy efficiency, innovation, and economic development. Much of our work involves complex and innovative software applications, often offered to customers using a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model. Team members in this program support CAES business through the design, development, and maintenance of these software applications. What You'll Do RTI International is seeking an Environmental Software Engineering Intern to contribute to the Development and Operations Team, tasked with building and maintaining software to support the design, development, and maintenance of software products and related services for RTIโs Center for Applied Economics and Strategy. This individual will, among other things, be working to build functionality into these software products. Responsibilities: Implementing new functionality within software products. Assisting development team address defects in software products. Routinely meet with development team and stakeholders to assess needs and demonstrate progress. Internship Learning Objectives Become familiar with full stack software development and full software development life cycle via client-facing software project(s). Learn modern technologies and methods in software development What You'll Need Required Qualifications: Current or past course work in computer science / data science related courses. Exposure to object-oriented programming in PHP, Python, C#, and/or JavaScript frameworks such as React or jQuery. Familiarity with usage of git/GitHub for software development.
