5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesUpdate UNICEF works in the worldโ€™s toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents โ€“ and to protect the rights of every child, everywhere. Across more than 190 countries and territories, we do whatever it takes to help children survive, thrive and fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. The worldโ€™s largest provider of vaccines, we support child health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education and skill building, HIV prevention and treatment for mothers and babies, and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation. Before, during and after humanitarian emergencies, UNICEF is on the ground, bringing lifesaving help and hope to children and families. Non-political and impartial, we are never neutral when it comes to defending childrenโ€™s rights and safeguarding their lives and futures. And we never give up.

ContextCommission and manage the development of a practical Trainersโ€™ Manual that enables consistent, inclusive, and highโ€‘quality training on the National Quality Standards (NQS) for basic education.

Task DescriptionThe NQS provide a shared framework for school quality across leadership, teaching & learning, inclusion, safety & wellbeing, assessment & data use, schoolโ€“community engagement, and resource management. The Online Volunteer will help standardize capacityโ€‘building for national, regional and schoolโ€‘level actors (master trainers, inspectors/coaches, headteachers, school council focal points), ensuring fidelity to NQS while adapting to local realities.
