CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of  EHS Specialist to work in HR department in the Operations chapter.

The positions will be based at CIMMYT\u2019s headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City.

Specific duties:

Responsible for defining objectives, plans and programs, coordinating schedules, and delivering training on key areas such as OHS dashboards, waste management, personal protective equipment, chemical handling, OHS commissions, contractor management, and risk assessment. Additionally, the role acts as an EHS Business Partner (EHSBP) within an assigned area, serving as a dedicated advisor who coordinates activities, implements SME plans, delivers training, gathers data, and conducts inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards[KV1] . Writing and implementing global EHS frameworks along with EHS manager. Leading occupational injuries & illness prevention efforts. Coordinating waste management system. Coordinating OHS Commission efforts Reporting monthly dashboards for CO\u2019s and HQ Developing global PPE, hazardous materials handling, contractors\u2019 management, OHS Commission, machinery safety and accident investigation programs

Requirements

Bachelor\u2019s degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, environmental engineering. Experience of minimum 3 or 6 years in a related field. The selected candidate must have a course or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. The selected candidate must have management system administration (PDCA cycle, continuous improvement, optimization and resources management.      The selected candidate must exhibit experience working in cross-functional teams, particularly between EHS and other functions. The selected candidate must demonstrate strong discipline and be action oriented. The candidate must be familiar with emergency preparedness and response systems. Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft windows environment. English is a must and will be tested, and the candidate should score a minimum of C1/C2 of CEFR. The selected candidate must exhibit the following competences critical thinking, communication, teamwork, client orientation, problem solving and decision making.
