5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesThe United Nations Development Programme is the United Nations' global development network. It promotes technical and investment cooperation among nations and advocates for change and connects countries to knowledge, experience, and resources to help people build a better life for themselves. UNDP is on the ground in over 170 countries and territories, working with them on their own solutions to global, regional, and national development challenges. Todayโ€™s 1.45 billion young people (aged 18 to 29), the largest youth generation ever, are actively shaping the world. They are digitally connected, passionate about bringing change, and increasingly driving social, political, and economic progress in their local communities and beyond.

ContextSustainable finance is one of the most important pathways to securing Kuwaitโ€™s future beyond oil. It links business opportunities with social progress, environmental protection, and long-term economic resilience. While the concept is gaining momentum worldwide, in Kuwait it is still relatively new, and many people are not yet fully aware of its potential. By donating their skills, the volunteer video editor will help UNDP Kuwait raise awareness and tell a compelling story of how finance can transform lives, create opportunities for young people, and contribute to Kuwait Vision 2035. These short videos will be shared widely across digital platforms, helping spark conversations and inspire action among businesses, policymakers, and the community. This is an opportunity for the volunteer to contribute their creativity and technical skills to a meaningful cause that directly supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Kuwaitโ€™s journey toward a greener, more resilient economy. UNDP Kuwait is developing a series of short, engaging awareness videos on sustainable finance to highlight its importance for Kuwait, the region, and globally. The videos will use publicly available footage from the internet (royalty-free or with appropriate licensing) combined with simple graphics, text overlays, and music to deliver clear, impactful messages.
