It was founded in 1948 with the purpose of contributing to the region's economic and social development. The internship in the (ECLAC, Sustainable Development and Human Settlements Division, in the climate change unit, in Santiago) will last 2 to 6 (2 min/6 max) months, depending on the needs of the Office. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an \"asneeded\" basis. Under the supervision or overall guidance of Economics Officer: José Eduardo Alatorre. The intern will support the team providing research assistance. The task will include: • Produce analytical, quantitative and qualitative elements required for the elaboration of documents and reports contained in the regular work programme and extraordinary work assigned to the Unit. • Collect climate change related qualitative and quantitative data. • Survey literature on climate change impacts and policy responses. Qualifications/special skillsThe basic education required bachelor degree in international relations, public policy or economics and be a master degree student is desirable. Knowledge of econometrics is desirable. Knowledge of a programming language is desirable. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PH.D.
