The Economic Security (EcoSec) Field Officer plans, implements and monitors EcoSec programs, including relief and early recovery interventions, according to the country strategy with supervision and guidance from the Economic Security Coordinator. With a strong background in agriculture, s/he is the EcoSec focal person for all agriculture programs in the Philippines. As part of the Economic Security team, s/he is expected to collaborate with his/her peers and to contribute to the data collection, data analysis and reporting.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, implement, and supervise activities related to Economic Security, including multidisciplinary assessments, relief and livelihood support interventions, and capacity building;
- Undertake agricultural assessment in selected areas of operation and design agricultural programs based on the findings;
- Design and deliver training modules for farmers (sustainable agricultural practices and organic farming);
- Provide expertise and technical support on agriculture to the other members of the EcoSec team.
REQUIRED PROFILE
- Bachelor's degree in agronomy or agriculture; Master of Agriculture major in Agronomy is preferred;
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in implementing agricultural programs;
- Previous working experience with an International Non-Government Organization is an advantage;
- Knowledge and experience in organic farming;
- Experience in conducting capacity building trainings to farmers and communities;
- Good knowledge of Mindanao's geography;
- Willingness to work and travel to different areas for several weeks.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, Tagalog, Bisaya and Maguindanaon;
