Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.ย Under direct supervision of the Supply Chain Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective and efficient day today transport and logistical/ administrative ย support in implementation of Programmes in IOM Mendi and will be accountable and responsible for providing driving services and general support to the IOM staff. ย ย
Driving IOM office vehicle (s) in accordance with the security and transportation procedures IN 271, ensuring the safe and on-time arrival of the passenger from/to the duty station or destination.ย
Driving office vehicles (s) for transport of authorized personnels and IOM beneficiaries, and for delivery/collection of supplies, mail, documents and other items.
Ensure cost-savings through proper use of assigned vehicle,ย accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
Ensuresย proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicleย through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.ย
Keep record of spare parts for the vehicle and conduct monthly inventory of the spare parts.
Keep the vehicle maintenance log updated.ย Keep a log of trips, daily mileage, gas consumption and other relevant information; submit report to supervisor on a regular basis. Prepare daily log sheet and monthly report summarizing statistics for mileage, fuel consumption, usage, etc.ย
Ensure that the vehicle undertakes regular service intervals/ regular checking of the vehicle parts and record vehicle maintenance history in an excel file created for each vehicle.
Ability to create, edit and present information (queries, reports, documents)ย in visually pleasing, clear and presentable formatsย such as tables, forms, presentations, briefing notes/books and reports using Microsoft Office tools.
Ensure that the IOM vehicle is used only for official/ authorized business, as advised by the supervisor.
Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions, which involves IOM and its officials.
Take proper precaution to reduce potential security threats to IOM officials or property within the immediate vicinity of the vehicle and along transport routes.
Ensure that the steps required by the organization and local rules & regulations (pertaining to driving) are taken care in case of involvement in accident.
Encode/ collects and compiles data related to vehicle millage in excel tracking sheet to monitor the use of vehicle and to deduct timely those related to personal use.
Delivery IOM document, courier, medicine for beneficiary as when require
Perform any other duties that the supervisor may assign.
Education and ExperienceCompleted secondary school diploma or Bachelor degreeย
Possess a Class six (6) driverโs license
Possess knowledge of driving rules and regulations
At least 3 years of driving experience with good safety driving records familiar of the locality in the area
Possess skills in minor repair
Flexible working hours, willingness to work at weekends and to extend if needed.
Knowledge/experience with UN Security (radio checks, defensive driving) an advantage.
Experience with radio equipment operations
Knowledge of Ms Office programs (Word, Excel etc)ย
