Result of ServiceIC will support the Transport unit and office in Mocha and Aden, with administrative and transport support work. IC will only be authorized to drive a UN vehicle with a valid national and UN Driving Permit. Work LocationAl-Mokha, Aden Expected duration3 months Duties and Responsibilitiesโ€ข Drives vehicles safely for the transportation of authorized personnel. โ€ข Collects and delivers mail, documents, and other items. โ€ข Meets official personnel โ€ข Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors. โ€ข Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, checking oil, coolant, battery, brakes, etc.; performs minor repairs and plans regular maintenance and repairs in advance. Ensures the vehicle fleet is kept clean. โ€ข Logs official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, and servicing intervals. โ€ข Ensure rules and regulations are followed in case of involvement in an accident. โ€ข Assist the workshop in preparing vehicles for field trips, such as wheel changing, air filter cleaning, and general check-over. โ€ข Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications/special skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one (1) year of progressively responsible experience in the provision of driver services is required. Experience as a driver with a safe driving record is required Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, light passenger vehicles, sedans, heavy and light 4x4 sports utility vehicles (SUV's), ambulances and pick-up trucks, cargo and passenger van is desirable. Experience in providing driving services in a multinational work environment is desirable. Driver training and having a valid driver's license is required. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the position advertised, fluency in English and Arabic (both oral and written) is required. NOTE: Fluency equals a rating of \"fluent\" in all four areas (read, write, speak, understand) and \"knowledge of\" equals a rating of \"confident\" in two of the four areas.
