Position Purpose
The Director, DER has the overall responsibility for the BSTDBโs external relations and communications activities with significant interaction with the ฮffice of the President and Division Heads and the BSTDBโs front office departments.
The Director, DER leads strategic planning in the area of external relations, including setting targets, and oversees the delivery of services provided by the Department. Additionally, the Director, DER advises the Senior Management on external relations issues.
Key Functions and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Secretary General, the Director of the External Relations and Communications Department (DER) is responsible for the comprehensive management of the department, encompassing both the organization and oversight of its operations and the supervision, guidance, and coaching of its team members.

Masterโs degree or equivalent in Public Relations, International Relations, Political Science or Marketing, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA), from reputable universities. At least 15 years of relevant working experience in public relations, and/or in the marketing department of an organization or a public entity with multilateral exposure, with at least 7 years of experience in managerial positions with proven ability to lead, manage, and supervise a diverse and high performing team. Full professional proficiency in developing and managing marketing strategies and campaigns in all digital and social platforms. Solid understanding of social media analytics and digital marketing strategies. In-depth knowledge of international financial architecture. Strong public speaking skills for representing the institution at events and in the media. Ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively. Significant people management skills, including workforce and resource planning. Knowledge of a language of the BSTDB member countries.Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
PhD in a relevant area will be considered a plus. Demonstrated coaching, mentoring & leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts and build consensus within teams. Experience in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience in investor relations. Experience in the region of the BSTDBโs operations. Experience in an international development financial institution.Minimum Qualification Requirements
For a candidate to participate in the competitive selection for this position, s/he must meet at least the following minimum requirements:
Education: Masterโs degree or equivalent in Public Relations, International Relations, Political Science or Marketing, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Experience: At least 10 years of relevant working experience.
