Reporting to the Country Director, the Director Advocacy, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) responsible for delivering advocacy, communication, and partnership strategies that inspire positive changes for children in Vanuatu. The role will lead on stakeholder engagement with local, provincial and national partners to drive the agenda for children in Vanuatu. Working collaboratively with the Country Director, Director Program Operations, and the Director Program Development and Quality, this role will make a significant contribution to an improved social, policy and legislative environment that protects the rights of children in Vanuatu.

You will make an Impact by:

Advocacy:

Build relationships with critical advocacy actors to identify opportunities for working together. Link local to national and global level advocacy efforts, supporting localization and influencing policy development. Externally represent Save the Children in key forums and support the placement of senior staff in public forums and platforms. Develop advocacy plans in line with organizational strategy targets, identifying policies with the potential to achieve the change needed. Set clear and measurable indicators for tracking progress in advancing advocacy. Produce evidence-based advocacy recommendations from program and policy research to inform strategies and policy asks for children. Facilitate childrenโ€™s meaningful engagement in policy analysis and strategy including their safe participation in political forums and public spaces, including through initiatives such as Next Gen and SHIFT. Support the program teams to implement advocacy activities taking advantage of key moments to deliver on the country office advocacy objectives. Build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with Save the Childrenโ€™s Australia Policy Unit, and the Pacific Region, to ensure common messages and effective advocacy efforts. Support engagement in regional and global advocacy efforts through contribution of stories, videos, photos etc. to highlight Country Office achievements.

Public Policy Analysis:

Use evidence from programs to inform and make recommendations to improve policy discussion. Support engagement in public policy process. Actively engage with the political and policy environment and
