We are now in the next phase of our digital transformation, implementing theย Digital Strategy 2022-2025,ย which puts forth a vision to create a world in which digital is an empowering force for people and the planet.

The Chief Digital Office (CDO) at UNDP is leading this effort with the goal of embedding digital technology in the development projects that we implement, supporting government partners to build inclusive digital ecosystems, and transforming the organization internally to enable these changes.

Project Overview:

Within the CDO, the Country Digital Transformation Team develops and scales UNDPโ€™s digital projects and programmes, building global and local digital ecosystems that reaches and work for everyone, including the discovery and implementation of scalable digital solutions, digital skills building, and inclusive connectivity. This role would support the coordination and execution of digital ecosystem projects and initiatives.

Scope of Workย 

The Digital Transformation Delivery Coordinator will be responsible for supporting programme/initiative coordination, research, events/engagement, and strategic operations across key areas of Digital Transformation. The role involves:

1. Ensure Strategic Planning & Coordination

Support the Management team in strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of digital transformation initiatives. Provide project coordination support for global events and high-level engagements co-organized with partners. Strengthen communication flow between senior leadership and management teams, ensuring alignment across initiatives. Coordinate internal and external communications, providing executive-level administrative support and strategic advisory input. Implement and manage tracking and reporting tools to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency.

2. Coordination of Digital Transformation Journeys

Develop impact metrics and tracking infrastructure to measure the success of digital transformation initiatives, including piloting these within the CDO. Conduct stakeholder engagement and data-driven analysis to guide digital initiatives and inform strategic decisions.

3. Provision of coordination support for Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)

Provide project coordination support for the DPI Global Summit, co-organized with external partners. Lead research efforts to identify opportunities for DPI integration across digital ecosystems.

4. Ensure Data for Digital Governance

Conduct research and provide coordination support for data-related projects. Support operational aspects of Data to Policy and Data Governance Initiatives, including organizing trainings and events.

5. Ensure coordination support for AI for Sustainable Development

Conduct research and provide coordination support for AI-related initiatives. Develop briefing documents and research analyses on AI applications for sustainable development.

6. Provision of General Support for Digital Transformation Capabilities and knowledge sharing

Develop quality PowerPoint presentations to capture results, insights, and reporting for stakeholders, including for events and project updates. Draft quality briefing notes and research documents to support advocacy, engagement, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Organize meetings, establish working groups, and support internal sub-teams to enhance operational efficiency. Implement operational best practices, inspired by Chief of Staff functions, to improve organizational effectiveness.

The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Institutional Arrangement

Theย Digital Transformation Delivery Coordinatorย will report to the Head of Digital Programmes in the Chief Digital Office (CDO). The coordinator is expected to be reasonably flexible with availability for meetings, considering different time zones.

Minimum Qualifications of the Successful IPSA

Min. Education requirementsย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

Advanced university degree (masterโ€™s degree or equivalent) in Public Administration, Business Administration, Learning, International Development, IT, Economics, Business, Communications, or a related field is required. OR A first-level university degree (bachelorโ€™s degree) in the areas stated above in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree

Min. years of relevant work experience ย ย 

A minimum of 2 years (with masterโ€™s degree) or 4 years (with bachelorโ€™s degree) of experience in project management, strategic operations, event coordination or stakeholder engagement is required

Required skills ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

Demonstrated experience in managing digital initiatives, communities or innovation functionsย  Demonstrated experience managing high-level offsites, team events, and internal team communications Experience in advanced use of office applications (MS Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) is required.

Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies sectionย ย ย ย ย ย 

Demonstrated experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders is desirable. Demonstrated experience in supporting digital products, such as newsletters, websites or software tools, is desirable. Experience working with the UN or other large scale development organizations is desirable.

Required Language(s) ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

Fluency in English is required.ย  Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish), or a local language, is advantageous.
