Mission and objectivesOn the ground in about 170 countries and territories, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works to eradicate poverty while protecting the planet. We help countries develop strong policies, skills, partnerships, and institutions so they can sustain their progress. In Viet Nam, the Government and UNDP partnership officially started in 1978. Since then, UNDP has been working closely with the Government and other partners to expand the choices for people and ensure that everyone has equal access to opportunities to realize their full potentials. The current Country Programme (2017-2021) contributes to three inter-related outcomes of the One UN Strategic Plan for Viet Nam, aiming to address poverty and inequalities; enhance citizen participation and protection of rights; as well as promote sustainable low-carbon development while strengthening the resilience of the targeted groups. - Outcome 1: Poverty eradication and greater socio-economic equity. - Outcome 2: Low-carbon, resilience, and environmentally sustainable development. - Outcome 3: Institutional accountability, peopleโs voice, and access to justice.
ContextYouth Digitalization for Employability and Entrepreneurship Program (YDEEP) YDEEP, or Skill Our Future, aims to create digital pathways and reduce digital inequality for youth, particularly those from underserved communities across Viet Nam. YDEEP seeks to support young peopleโs employability and enable them to thrive as leaders and globally engaged citizens and contribute to sustainable development in their communities and beyond. Under YDEEP, Skill Our Future equips youth with the necessary 21st century and digital skills they need to prepare for the future of work, with a marked focus on providing opportunities for youth from underserved communities. The initiative will also employ two key approaches for implementation to scale the programme in Viet Nam: 1) Ecosystem enablement approach, and 2) Capacity building approach. The YDEEP/ Skill our Future in Viet Nam 2025 aims to develop sustainable and scalable models for implementation. The programmeโs key activities serve as enablers to developing skills and catalyzing impact entrepreneurship opportunities to all youth including those from underserved communities, so that they are empowered and prepared to transition into gainful employment. In particular, the YEEP/ Skill Our Future will contribute to the following pillars and goals: โข Capacity Building: Enhance the skills and knowledge of community partners and youth networks to mainstream access to skills development and job-readiness opportunities and reach out to youth from underserved communities. โข One-stop-shop digital learning platform: Provide youth digital, role-based, foundation or technical training to attain in-demand certification or credential and become facilitators leading learning opportunities. โข Scalability: Develop and localize a training model and curriculum that can be scaled up in different provinces and cities, reaching the most underserved communities. โข Enabling Policy Environment: Implement and supplement inclusive policies and programme on skills development and employability addressing the gaps in current national and sub-national frameworks.
Task DescriptionWe are seeking 1 Online Volunteer to support our Youth team in enhancing social media communications, public engagement within the Youth Digitalization for Employability and Entrepreneurship programme. In particular, the Online Volunteers are asked to: - Design about 15 social media postcards presenting Skill Our Future online courses on social media. - Support to circulate social media post cards to different social media platforms . - Amplify programme's messages, engaging youth to join and learn courses from Skill Our Future platform. The design/layout should follow our corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteer in advance. The Online Volunteer will have the opportunity to build connections with the Youth YDEEP team at UNDP and learn about the ways in which digital design can support to better mobilizing youth to foster youth employability and entrepreneurship in Viet Nam.
