Mission and objectivesAction Lab for Development empowers local innovators and newcomers through education, advocacy, and entrepreneurship support, with a strong focus on integrating ancestral wisdom, emotional intelligence, and ethical design into digital innovation. The MoralityCode project embodies this missionโseeking to build a moral AI system that reflects lived experience, cultural spirituality, and philosophical insight. This initiative blends technology and humanity to co-create AI that not only makes decisionsโbut truly understands their moral and emotional weight.
ContextBorn from a deeply personal journey of trauma, healing, and spiritual awakening, MoralityCode is a response to the emotional void in todayโs AI systems. It is being developed as a prototype AI that reflects: โข Emotional and moral complexity โข African ancestral spiritual wisdom (โndapgongโ) โข Theological and philosophical principles โข Intuitive, gut-based learning The ultimate goal is to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that simulates moral reasoning in ways both machines and humans can interact with-encouraging empathy, reflection, and ethical decision-making. We aim to launch: โข A fully functioning MoralityCode MVP โข A global, ethical AI network rooted in emotional and cultural intelligence โข A local ndapgong Hub in Alberta focused on healing, intuitive entrepreneurship, and spiritual innovation โข This is not just a tech initiativeโitโs a movement of the heart, spirit, and mind. If youโre ready to co-create AI that heals and feels, we invite you to contribute. Letโs build a future where technology honors humanity.
Task DescriptionWe are seeking 6 online volunteers to assist with the development of the MoralityCode MVP. Tasks will be divided among six volunteers, with each person focusing on one specific area. This ensures clarity and accountability, in line with our one-task-per-volunteer policy. Areas of Responsibility & Individual Volunteer Roles 1. App Developer Responsibility: Develop and implement the MoralityCode prototype as a mobile or web application using React Native, Flutter, or a web-based stack. You will translate design and decision-logic flows into a working user interface. 2. AI/ML Practitioner Responsibility: Design and build a lightweight, ethical decision-making engine. This includes modeling moral reasoning, integrating emotional logic, and contributing to the development of explainable AI components aligned with human values. 3. UX/UI Designer Responsibility: Create wireframes and high-fidelity mockups centered on empathy-first design. You will ensure that the app is intuitive, accessible, and capable of reflecting emotional and moral complexity through visual and user journey design. 4. Philosopher, Theologian, or Ethicist Responsibility: Curate moral dilemmas and decision-making frameworks grounded in philosophy, ethics, and theology. Help embed deeper moral narratives into the AI system and ensure cultural and spiritual appropriateness. 5. Story Architect Responsibility: Translate Canadian and African oral traditions, emotional narratives, and spiritual wisdom into digital content. You will shape story-based scenarios for the app and co-create language that resonates with ancestral, intuitive, and emotional learning. 6. Project Manager Responsibility: Coordinate all development activities, manage timelines, track milestones, and ensure cross-collaboration among team members. You will oversee task completion and maintain documentation for internal progress reporting. Key Goals Across Roles โข Map emotional and moral dilemmas into user journeys โข Build and test a working MVP that simulates moral decision-making โข Develop a spiritual-tech knowledge engine based on โndapngongโ โข Support the foundation of \"ndapngong' or Action Lab entrepreneurship hub in Alberta-Canada Note: Volunteers will focus on research, design, and development tasks only. All external outreach and implementation will be handled by the internal Action Lab team.
