5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesThe founders of the Africa Youths for peace and Development having seen harsh realities which are being experienced by the entire continent as a result of war and the consequent violence galore which follow, decided to form the organization with the vision of continental integration for peace and development for youths in the continent. It is the belief of this organization that violence achieves no meaningful goal. Africa Youth for Peace and Development organization was formed 1995 and was finally registered in the year 2000 under the ministry of youth and sport in Sierra Leone, as a voluntary, youth development organization that aims at organizing, empowering and creating opportunities for youths and Youths groups that are in difficult circumstances. VISION To achieve a peaceful, integrated, and developed Africa where every young person, regardless of their socio-economic background, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society. MISSION AYPAD is committed to empowering and advocating for youth across Africa by creating sustainable opportunities for development and social integration. Through capacity building, education, sports, and cultural activities, we strive to uplift the lives of disadvantaged and marginalized youth, fostering a generation of leaders dedicated to peace and positive societal change. GOALS 1. To provide education, training, and advance employment opportunities that empower youth, particularly the marginalized and disadvantaged. 2. To promote peace and social cohesion by engaging young people in activities that foster understanding, tolerance, and unity. 3. To facilitate sustainable agricultural practices and environmental initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being of communities. 4. To strengthen the capacity of youth to advocate for their rights and actively participate in community development

ContextBREATH is a transformative digital platform which will bridge critical healthcare gaps for women and girls in Africa with a pilot in Uganda and sierra leone, countries severely impacted by climate change. The Mobile App is to enable women to get basic knowledge on SRH. This will be integrated with the Healthcare system in Uganda, and google map to enable the participants to be able to track the nearby health facility where they can get the services. There will be an open access inquiry box. AI will aid in providing automated responses. A medical officer will consult for those questions that AI will not have appropriate answers. This platform/digital Application is to transcend traditional healthcare by providing real time, instant, accessible and culturally sensitive Health messages on SRH, Vector borne and water borne diseases, climate change (weather and Environmental early warning alerts) and climate smart agricultural practices. A dynamic referral network, and personalized virtual consultations. The Mobile App focuses on sexual and reproductive health intricately linked with climate-induced health risks, ensuring uninterrupted access even amidst environmental disruptions (Mugisha et al., 2023; Kiberu et al., 2021). By integrating cutting-edge technology and community-driven design, G-DISC will empower women and girls to proactively manage their health, fostering resilience and autonomy in the face of climate adversity (Odeny et al., 2022; WHO, 2020). Climate change exacerbates health vulnerabilities among women and girls in Wakiso, Uganda, increasing risks of infectious diseases, malnutrition, and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) (UBOS, 2019). Traditional health services are often disrupted during floods and droughts, limiting access to essential care (MOH, 2021). Digital health interventions have demonstrated efficacy in improving maternal and reproductive health outcomes in low-resource settings by overcoming geographic and infrastructural barriers (Labrique et al., 2018; WHO, 2020). However, there is a gap in integrated digital platforms tailored to the compounded effects of climate change on womenโ€™s health in peri-urban African contexts. This project addresses this gap by developing a user-friendly, climate-responsive digital health platform. BREATH will provide a tailored, scalable solution that harnesses digital tools to surmount geographic and infrastructural barriers, delivering climate-smart healthcare access where it is needed most (Mugisha et al., 2023; WHO, 2022). Africa Youth for Peace and Development organization was formed in 1995 and was finally registered in the year 2000 under the ministry of youth and sport in Sierra Leone, as a voluntary, youth development organization that aims at organizing, empowering and creating opportunities for youths and Youths groups that are in difficult circumstances. AYPAD will work hand in hand with local autorities and entities to implement the BREATH project. Centre For Relielf Aid & Development and TrueTalk LMS to have the BREATH project reach the greater coverage.
