About this position
- Leading, coordinating, and monitoring the IDB Groupโs Institutional Strategy.
- Leading the implementation of the IDBโs Development Effectiveness Framework.
- Assess the evaluability and development effectiveness of IDB operations.
- Monitoring the performance of the IDBโs portfolio.
- Designing and reviewing the IDBโs lending instruments.
- Leading project capacity-building related to development effectiveness.
- Conducting strategic, corporate, and operational research.
- Gathering, analyzing, and reporting data to recommend best practices or new courses of action to improve the IDBโs overall performance and transparency.
What youโll do
- Prepare data and conduct statistical analysis as part of evaluation and research teams, with a focus on massive volumes of data in structured and unstructured formats.
- Prepare code and provide support to the processing of Big Data projects, in particular visualization and dashboard building.
- Participate in data collection activities including data scrapping, preparation of questionnaires, manuals, field work, data documentation, and other tasks as required.
- Assist in the preparation of inputs for research transparency and credibility, including data de-identification, study registration, and information needed for institutional review boards.
The completion of these task will require access to confidential data. The consultant will be required to treat all information and data as confidential. A non-disclosure agreement may be required to be signed as part of the requirements of this consultancy.
What you'll need
- Education: Masterโs degree from an accredited college or university in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
- Experience: 5 years or more of general experience, 2 years of experience as data scientist and advanced knowledge of statistical programming languages such as SQL, Python, R or Stata. Experience working with data visualization and dashboard building is highly desired.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

Requirements
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
- Length of contract: 24 months (with possible extension up to 36 months).
- Work Location: On site.
