Work LocationRemote Expected duration5 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesBackground: The UN Secretary-Generalโs Development System reform, launched on 1 January 2019 in response to General Assembly resolution 71/243, repositions the UN Development System to deliver on the 2030 Agenda for dignity, prosperity and peace on a healthy planet. Central to this process, and as further mandated by General Assembly resolution 72/279, a new generation of UN Resident Coordinator Offices (RCO) across the world are being strengthened under the leadership of an empowered UN Resident Coordinator (RC), the highest-ranking representative of the UN Development System at country level. Under the reformed UN Development System, the reinvigorated RC system has created new frameworks, instruments, tools, and platforms to strengthen coordination, enhance accountability, and improve transparency regarding the UNโs collective support to Member States. Among these tools is the online platform UN INFO, a โone-stop-shopโ for RCOs/UN Country Teams (UNCT) in tracking progress and monitoring results, which facilitates data harmonization and demonstrates the collective contributions of UNCTs toward the 2030 Agenda. To effectively support the work of UNCT in support of national aspirations, the RCO aims to further develop its digital capacities to manage and track tasks more efficiently, strengthen data management practices, and enhance its ability to analyze and report on key activities. The objective of this consultancy is to engage a Junior Digital Solutions Analyst who will provide support in data collection, analysis, and reporting through the use of Digital Solutions. By enhancing both task coordination and data-driven decision-making, this consultancy will assist the RCO in Saudi Arabia effectively coordinate support to the UNCT. Work assignment: 1. Data analysis and strategic alignment โข Analyse data and documentation from the United Nations Sustainable Development Coopertion framework (UNSDCF) 2022-2026, Joint Work Plans (JWPs) 2022-2025, and map against the UN Six Transitions and the Quintet of Change. โข Identify gaps, challenges, and emerging opportunities to inform the design of the next UNSDCF 2027-2031. โข Develop a visual matrix linking current outcomes and outputs to the six transitions and the five shifts, highlighting under-represented areas and opportunities. โข Develop a foresight-informed diagnostic analysis using key thematic trends and projections. 2. Support to UNSDCF Annual Review and results quality assurance โข Assist the drafting of the UNSDCF Annual Performance Review by conducting structured consultations with Results Groups (RGs), Programme Support Team (PST) members, and UN INFO focal points to validate and cross-check data submitted through UN INFO and SharePoint. โข Map the results achieved under each Strategic Priority Area, with a focus on progress made in key performance indicators (KPIs), financial delivery, and demonstrated impact. โข Provide analytical feedback on the relevance, measurability, and coherence of reported results and indicators, ensuring alignment with the UNSDCF and UN INFO reporting. โข Identify data inconsistencies, gaps, or redundancies and recommend actions to improve quality and consistency of future reporting cycles. 3. Data collection, processing, and integration โข Identify, retrieve, and consolidate data from UN INFO, Country Analysis, UNSDCF documents, Information Management System (IMS), and SharePoint. โข Clean, structure, and format datasets for compatibility with the digital platforms, ensuring data consistency. โข Apply data transformation tools (e.g., Excel macros, Power Query, Power BI) to automate recurrent cleaning and validation tasks. โข Generate insights and visual summaries to support evidence-based decision-making across the RCO/UNCT/PST 4. Reporting, dashboards, and visualization โข Design and implement reporting modules (charts, graphs, summaries) to monitor tasks, deliverables, and results in real time. โข Develop user-friendly dashboards for RCO/UNCT leadership, integrating key performance indicators and timelines. 5. knowledge transfer โข Provide on-the-job knowledge to RCO colleagues on the use of analytical tools and dashboards produced based on the results captured โข Support development of SOPs or guidance notes on data workflows, dashboard use, and reporting protocols. 6. Quality assurance and final deliverables โข Conduct thorough data quality reviews throughout the consultancy period. โข Prepare a final report summarizing: - Key achievements, - Challenges and lessons learned, - Recommendations for sustainability, - Handover guidance for future system maintenance and stakeholder engagement. Qualifications/special skillsEnrollment or graduated from a Master's or Higher degree in social sciences, economics, public health, law or related area is required.
