The Systematic Observations Financing Facility (SOFF) Secretariat. WMO is committed to achieving diversity and a balanced workforce. For external applicants, only those who are expected to complete the term of appointment will normally be considered. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The consultant will focus on supporting the engagement and outreach activities related to the SOFF Impact Bond, its positioning in the COP30 action agenda, and related communications. The responsibilities are as follows:

a) SOFF IMPACT BOND
- Monitor SOFF Secretariat exchanges related to the Bond.
- Regularly update Bond engagement gameplan.
- Support communications with bond-related stakeholders and draft responses for senior level engagements.
- Contribute to bond engagement and outreach strategy.

b) SOFF AT COP30
- Support positioning of the Bond at COP30 and at the COP30 Action Agenda.
- Facilitate SOFF engagement with COP30 Presidency.
- Contribute to the design, preparation and implementation of SOFF COP30 events.
- Support SOFF with COP30 logistics.

c) COMMUNICATIONS
- Contribute to shaping Bond and COP30 related communications.
- Prepare inputs for Bond and COP30 communications.
- Any other duty in support of SOFF positioning at COP30.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
1. Regularly updated SOFF Impact Bond engagement gameplan.
2. Drafted messages and correspondence to reach out to high-level potential Bond structuring partners
3. Prepared draft SOFF COP30 event for the announcement of the Bond.
4. Mapped out of relevant COP30 events for SOFF participation.
5. Drafted communication content for publication in relation of SOFF participation at COP30 and SOFF Impact Bond announcement.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Advanced degree in international relations, business, law or any other social science related studies. Focus on climate change and environment-related topics an advantage.
Experience
At least 3 years of experience related to partnerships and development finance; in mobilizing financial resources and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration including governments, development finance institutions, philanthropic organizations, and the private sector is an added advantage.
Other requirements
Proficient use of Microsoft programs, good communication skills both oral and verbal. Portuguese language skills is a significant asset.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of any other UN language is an asset.

Payband B : USD 22,800 lumpsum, excluding travel related costs.
