Project Context and Scope ย  This project aims to provide essential support to refugees from Ukraine and their families in the Czech Republic, focusing on life-saving interventions, risk mitigation, and humanitarian coordination. A critical aspect of this effort is addressing the risks of labour exploitation and human trafficking, ensuring that temporary protection holders are aware of their rights and have access to protective mechanisms. To strengthen these efforts, the project implements screening measures to identify potential victims early and provide them with immediate support. ย  To ensure the effectiveness and reach of these initiatives, this role plays a key part in leading the development and execution of targeted communication and outreach strategies. The scope of work involves coordinating public information activities for IOM Czechia, including managing websites, social media, newsletters, and media relationsโ€”channels critical for raising awareness among vulnerable populations.ย  ย  Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) in Prague.ย  Tasks to be performed under this contract ย 

  1. Coordinate public information and digital outreach: Contribute to the planning and implementation of public information activities in close collaboration with the team. Ensure appropriate and consistent visibility for IOM, donors, and partners across all relevant platforms.
  2. Content creation: Produce high-quality, audience-appropriate content that highlights IOMโ€™s programmes, partnerships, and impact. This includes audiovisual materials (photos, videos) and written outputs (articles, stories, press releases, newsletters, and other publications).
  3. Manage the website and social media channels: Support the maintenance and regular updating of the IOM Czechia website, in coordination with programme teams. Lead the day-to-day management of social media accounts (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.), including the development and publication of tailored content.
  4. Develop and disseminate protective messaging: Assist in drafting, editing, and distributing news stories, press releases, media briefs, and feature articles that raise awareness of rights, protection risks, and available support services for refugees from Ukraine.
  5. Enhance media engagement and visibility: Build and manage relationships with journalists, organise press briefings, and monitor media to amplify humanitarian messaging and promote timely access to accurate, protective information.
  6. Perform other related duties as assigned. ย  Performance indicators for the evaluation of results ย
